SGTC General Education and Learning Support advisory committee meets
The South Georgia Technical College General Education and Learning Support advisory committee met recently in the Energy and Transportation Center on the SGTC Americus campus.
The purpose of the advisory committee is to assist South Georgia Technical College faculty and staff in continuous quality improvement of the General Education and Learning Support programs. SGTC general education instructors provided the committee with updates and information about program changes, enrollment, community activities, and student news.
The advisory committee members provide information to SGTC faculty and staff about suggested improvements in curriculum, new technology, employment/internship opportunities available for students, and salary levels students may anticipate upon graduation.
Members present at the advisory meeting were Chester Taylor, Math Instructor; Dr. Michele Seay, Psychology Instructor; Eulish Kinchens, Registrar; Raven Payne, English Instructor; Kim Miller, Math Instructor; Katrice Taylor, English Instructor; Jaye Cripe, Early Childhood Care and Education Instructor; Deo Cochran, Retention and Coaching Specialist; Cynthia Carter, Director of Career Services; and Dr. Andrea Oates, Academic Dean.
The advisory committee is a crucial link that provides an avenue for South Georgia Technical College instructors to learn about changing conditions or technology in the workplace that can then be passed along to students that will enable them to be fully prepared upon graduation.
