SGTC recognizes retiring RVRC Director for service
South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford recognized retiring River Valley Regional Commission (RVRC) Executive Director Patti Cullen for her service to this area with a plaque at the RVRC meeting held in Buena Vista recently.
“On behalf of South Georgia Technical College, I would like to express our appreciation to Patti Cullen for her service to the River Valley Regional Commission (RVRC) and our community,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford as he presented Cullen with a plaque in appreciation for her work with South Georgia Tech as well as 35 municipalities and county governments.
“Patti has served the 16 counties in the RVRC’s area for 38 years in providing needed services to county governments, municipalities and citizens. She is a great friend to South Georgia Technical College and we wish her many happy years as she retires,” stated SGTC Vice President of Economic Development Wally Summers, who also serves on the RVRC Board. SGTC Business/Industry Services Directors Paul Farr and Michelle McGowan also attended the meeting to help surprise Cullen.
Cullen will officially retire from the RVRC in April after serving the commission for 38 years. The mission of the RVRC is to create, promote, and foster the orderly growth and economic prosperity for this region. The RVRC serves 35 municipalities and county governments in the following 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, and Webster.
