South Georgia Tech nominates Jessica Wright as TCSG Alumni of the Year
South Georgia Technical College nominated Jessica Wright, Chief Operating Officer and co-owner of Innovative Senior Solutions (ISS), as a Technical College System of Georgia Foundation outstanding alumni, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.
Wright, a 2005 licensed practical nursing graduate of South Georgia Technical College, utilized her education at South Georgia Technical College to continue her education and earn her RN degree. She and her sister, Eshonda Blue, established Innovative Senior Solutions in 2007 and it became the first licensed home care provider in Sumter County.
“Thank you for this recognition,” said Jessica Wright. “This is truly an honor to be recognized as an outstanding alumnus. I would like to thank South Georgia Technical College for my nursing foundation that has helped me obtain my goals and set me on the path of becoming who I am today, an RN, entrepreneur, business leader, community leader, but most important an example that all things are possible to them that believe!”
Jessica Wright and Eshonda Blue established Innovative Senior Solutions from humble beginnings, working out of a cubicle at South Georgia Technical College’s Business Expansion Center in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus. Today the business has grown to employ over 100 employees and provides personal care and sitter services to the seniors and/or disabled individuals who are at risk for nursing home placement. ISS has been a Medicaid provider since 2008. The goal of ISS is to maintain the client’s independence and safety in their homes and the community as long as possible.
“Jessica Wright and Innovative Senior Solutions provide a valuable service to our community and other communities in Southwest Georgia,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. “We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and are grateful to her for showing others what you can accomplish and expand on with a technical education foundation.”
Wright values the education that she received at South Georgia Technical College and hires its graduates from the health care, marketing, and business programs. “There is tremendous value in technical education,” said Wright. “South Georgia Tech gave me a great opportunity and I am very pleased to be able to help others discover their passion of working with seniors.”
In addition to her educational and business success, Wright was selected as one of Georgia Trends “40 Under 40” in 2016 and Innovative Senior Solutions was named the 2017 Best of Home Care Employer of Choice and the 2017 Best of Home Care Provider of Choice. Her background experience in long-term care includes every roll of nursing from Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN), and each of these roles has provided her with invaluable knowledge, experience, and expertise in caring for the elderly as well as health care management.
The company was also selected as the Small Business of the Year by the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, received a Georgia Rock Star Honorable Mention by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and participated in the Georgia Mentor Protégé program.
