Pinckney named Assistant to SGTC Vice President Academic Affairs
Alecia Pinckney of Americus has joined South Georgia Technical College as the full-time Administrative Assistant to Julie Partain, Vice President of Academic Affairs. She will be located on the SGTC Americus campus.
“On behalf of everyone at South Georgia Technical College, I would like to welcome Alecia Pinckney to the college as a full-time employee,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. “We are very pleased she has joined our faculty and staff.”
Pinckney is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University and Oconee Fall Line Technical College in Dublin, GA. She earned an associate of Applied Science in Networking Specialist from Oconee Fall Line and then continued her education at Georgia Southwestern State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology – Business Management and a Master of Science in Computer Science.
She is CompTia A+ certified, and has skills in risk mitigation, data encryption, Linux, C# programming, and oracle and in managing security breaches. She has project management expertise, reporting and documentation and root cause analysis. Prior to joining SGTC, Pinckney worked at Pharmacentra/Concentra Solutions for five years and was the Operational Manager for three years. She also worked at GSW in the Office of Student Life as a reservationist.
As the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Pinckney will be performing a variety of tasks and assignments associated with support functions for the Vice President of Academic Affairs including monitoring and maintaining supplies and equipment, entering data from forms, records, and reports, coordinating meetings and management activities, participating in special tasks, and all other duties as assigned.
