The South Georgia Technical College General Education advisory committee met recently in the Energy and Transportation Center on the SGTC Americus campus.

SGTC General Education instructors Katrice Taylor, Paul Farr, Dr. Michele Seay, Raven Payne, Chester Taylor, and Shelly Godwin met with Academic Dean Dr. Andrea Oates, High School Coordinator Vickie Austin, and Director of Career Services Cynthia Carter to review all aspects of the South Georgia Tech General Education and Learning Support curriculum. Lillie Ann Winn of Macon County High School also attended the meeting.

The general purpose of the advisory committee at South Georgia Tech is to advise and assist program personnel and the college in training and preparing students to better serve the needs of business and industry in South Georgia Tech’s six-county service area, as well as statewide and regionally. The committee serves as a link between the workplace and the college.

South Georgia Technical College is currently registering students for spring semester on both the Americus and Crisp County Center campuses, which begins Monday, January 9th, 2017. There will be a registration and orientation session on Thursday, November 10th and another on Thursday, January 5th, 2017.

South Georgia Technical College has a one-stop admissions process that allows students to apply, enroll, and register in the same day. Students also need to apply for financial aid as soon as possible if they have not already done so.
