South Georgia Technical College's La'Deja James (10) was named the GCAA Division I women's basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time.

South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets returning sophomore guard, La’Deja James, was selected as the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Division I women’s basketball player of the week for the third time this season.
James, who is from Virginia Beach, VA, averaged 22 points in two games this past week. She also averaged 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.5 steals and 2.5 blocked shots in the Lady Jets performance at the Florida Southwestern Classic in Ft. Myers, FL. The Lady Jets split decision in that tournament, defeating Indian River State College and losing to Florida Southwestern.
“La’Deja has certainly stepped up and become the leader of this team on and off the court,” said South Georgia Technical College Athletic Director and Lady Jets head basketball coach James Frey. “She did a good job for us as a freshman, but she has worked extremely hard in the off season and after practice and it is paying off. She has the tools to be as good as she wants to be.”
The Lady Jets are 11 – 2 overall this season and will open their Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) schedule on Saturday, December 17th when they take on Andrew College in the Hangar on the Americus campus. Tip-off is 1 p.m.
The Lady Jets will take a short break for Christmas and then return to host the Lady Jets Holiday Classic on December 29th and 30th. They will play Broward College at 7 p.m. on December 29th and then host St. Petersburg College at 4 p.m. on December 30th. The Jets will play that same weekend at the Southwest Floriday classic in Ft. Myers, FL.
The two teams will open the new year at home on January 4th. The Lady Jets will take on Chattahoochee Technical College in the first half of a double-header at 5:30 p.m. and then the Jets will also take on Chattahoochee Tech at 7:30 p.m.
