Student Success Services (SSS) provide programs and activities designed to support students and promote academic achievement and progress towards graduation. Support is available in the areas of: Advisement, Advocacy, Career Development, Special Programs and Services, and Campus Involvement.
The Student Success Services team provides free academic support to South Georgia Technical College students. SSS tutors may see students individually or work with them in small groups. Spontaneous visits are welcome, but for tutoring sessions, appointments are preferred.
All students can take advantage of the Life Lab support services designed to help students succeed:
The main office is located in Hicks Hall in the SGTC Library. When visiting the Life Lab, students will find an informal, relaxed environment where they can learn at their own pace with the support of a trained staff member or student tutor.
The mission of the Life Lab is to improve student retention by preventing academic problems from becoming the reason for non-attainment of educational goals. The Life Lab is open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Fridays. The telephone number is 229-931-6877.
