Big Second Half Leads to 12th Straight Win for Lady Jets
The South Georgia Tech Lady Jets fell behind at halftime against East Georgia State (EGSC) on Wednesday, but answered with a strong second half to blowout the Lady Bobcats 97-46. The win over East Georgia State (2-5, 5-8) marks the twelfth straight win for the no. 16 nationally ranked Lady Jets.
The game started out evenly for the two teams, who entered the half with the Lady Bobcats leading 25-24 despite only having five players available for the game. After the half, the Lady Jets gained the deciding momentum after hitting a few 3-pointers to take a commanding lead. They would go on to outscore EGSC 73-21 in the second half.
The win over the conference rival pushes the Lady Jets to 12-1 on the season and 6-0 in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) play.
“We were terrible offensively and we had no energy defensively. We just weren’t good,” Lady Jets head coach James Frey said about the first half of the game. “But we were able to play a little bit better in the second half – kind of how we wanted to play the whole game. But we’ll take it.”
