Jets fall to Wallace State – Hanceville

Hanceville, AL – The South Georgia Technical College Jets dropped their fourth straight loss on the road to Wallace State Community College in a 102 – 85 decision. The Jets are now 1 – 8 on the season. They will enjoy a two and a half week break before traveling to Marianna, FL on December 11 to face Chipola College. The Jets first home game is set for December 14 at 3 p.m. against Tallahassee Community College in the Hangar.
Despite the 17-point loss, the Jets were only down one-point at the end of the first half, 48 – 47. However, Wallace State came back in the second half and outscored the Jets 54 – 38 to clinch the 102 – 85 decision.
Four Jets managed to score in double-digits against Wallace State. Freshman former Aiden Fitzgerald of Perth Australia was the leading scorer for the Jets with 18 points. He was also tied with Matija Vucic, the freshman center from Belgrade, Serbia, as the leading rebounder with seven each. Vucic also tossed in 12 points.
Sophomore guard Vaughn Prosser from Sydney, Australia, came away with 16 points, two rebounds, and one assist and Darius Willis, a freshman guard from Toronto, Canada, was the only other Jet in double-digits with 10 points.
Jordan Dickson, another freshman guard, from Canada had nine points; freshman forward Hendrens Bartelus tossed in eight, Daryl Bod had five, Dwight Brown, four; and Matt Mbole closed out the scoring with three points.
The Jets only hit 42.4 percent from the floor but did hit eight of eighteen from the three-point line for a 44.4% record. They were also 21 of 32 from the foul line. Wallace State hit 47.4% of their field goals and were 16 of 43 from three-point line. They made 85.7 of their free throws.
The Jets will return to action on December 11th when they travel to Marianna, FL to take on Chipola College at 7 p.m. CST. Their first regular season game at home will be December 14th at 3 p.m. in the Hangar against Tallahassee Community College.
