South Georgia Tech basketball players read at Furlow Charter School

South Georgia Technical College Jets and Lady Jets basketball players along with the college’s mascot, “ACE”, traveled to Furlow Charter School in Americus recently to read to elementary school classes.

“It is wonderful to see the smiles on the children’s faces as ACE and the players come into the classrooms,” said SGTC Athletic Director James Frey. “We enjoy giving back to the community and this is one of the ways that we can do this.”

The South Georgia Technical College Jets and Lady Jets basketball teams visited different elementary schools throughout the college’s six county service area during the months of September and October to read to different classrooms.
