Azalea Garden Club donates to SGTC Foundation for Horticulture Scholarships

The Azalea Garden Club presented the South Georgia Technical College Foundation with a donation to provide scholarships for students enrolled in the Environmental Horticulture Program recently. 

They are helping “Bridge the Gap” for academically deserving SGTC students with their scholarship donation. 

Maxine Stribling, a Past-President of the Azalea Garden Club, and members of the club presented the donation to SGTC Foundation Executive Director and Vice President of Institutional Advancement Su Ann Bird.

Azalea Garden Club members who attended the check presentation and overview of the Environmental Horticulture Program by Instructor Brandon Gross and several of his students included:  Maxine Stribling, Janis Webb, Sharon McFarland, Judy Parkinson, Myrt Radney, and Pam Dowdy.  SGTC Horticulture students Lisa Sellers, Cory Shelley, Cass Williams, Zaria Green, and Keinosia Brown attended the meeting with instructor Gross.

The Azalea Garden Club Environmental Horticulture Scholarship can be used for tuition, books, fees, tools, dormitory and cafeteria expenses.  Branon Gross is the South Georgia Technical College Environmental Horticulture instructor.
