Azalea Garden Club Presents Scholarships to SGTC Environmental Horticulture Students

The Azalea Garden Club presented the South Georgia Technical College Foundation with a donation to provide two scholarships for students enrolled in the Environmental Horticulture Program recently. 

Maxine Stribling, a Past President of the Azalea Garden Club, and SGTC Foundation Executive Director and Vice President of Institutional Advancement Su Ann Bird made the scholarship presentation to Cassandra Williams of Perry and Mary-Katherine Madrid of Leesburg.  SGTC Environmental Horticulture Instructor Brandon Gross and his students and other Garden Club members were also present.

Cassandra Williams and Mary-Katherine Madrid, both outstanding students in the SGTC Environmental Horticulture Program, were recognized and awarded their scholarship in an informal presentation recently in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the South Georgia Technical College campus as part of the garden clubs meeting.

Both Williams and Madrid were recommended for this scholarship based on their overall academic achievements, work ethics and activities.  The Environmental Horticulture Scholarship can be used for tuition, books, fees, tools, dormitory and cafeteria expenses.  Brandon Gross is the South
