Brittny Wright-McGrady named SGTC High School Coordinator
Brittny Wright-McGrady of Americus has been selected as the High School Coordinator for South Georgia Technical College effective immediately, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. She will report to Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain.
“We are pleased that Brittny Wright-McGrady has decided to return to South Georgia Technical College as our High School Coordinator,” said Dr. Watford. “She had worked in this department for seven years as a High School Initiatives Specialist and when her former supervisor Vickie Austin announced her retirement, Brittny was a great selection for this position. She is already familiar with the high school administrators and our procedures.”
Wright-McGrady worked as a high school initiatives specialist at South Georgia Technical College from May 2015 until May 2022. At that time, she accepted the High School Coordinator position at Albany Technical College. She remained there until recently when she returned to SGTC.
“I am thankful, honored, and elated to serve as the High School Coordinator for SGTC,” said Wright-McGrady. “I am indebted to SGTC’s Administrators for giving me my first higher education employment opportunity to serve as a High School Initiatives Specialist in 2015. I look forward to working with students, parents, and high school partners to help students maximize their goals and increase their skill set.”
As the High School Coordinator, Wright-McGrady will be responsible for assisting state, secondary, and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study, including dual enrollment, joint, and Accel enrollment opportunities to high school students in service delivery areas that lead to either an industry-recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma or associate’s degree. She will work with SGTC staff to ensure college-wide institutional needs are met.
Wright-McGrady received a B.S. cum laude in Sociology from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2013 and a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Mercer University in May 2017. She completed a graduate certificate in Higher Education Leadership for Student Success at Walden University in May 2018.
Brittny is married to Bernard McGrady and is the daughter of Shirley Trice, who manages the food services for Aramark at South Georgia Tech.
She is a member of the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Kappa Phi, National Society of Leadership and Success, Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities recipient and a graduate of Advancing Sumter – J.W.
