The Campus Safety Department mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for all persons on the campus of South Georgia Technical College.
The Campus Safety Department’s goal is to reduce the victimization of the campus community through education. Campus Safety provides the campus community with safety and crime prevention information. Presentations and materials are available on topics including personal safety, property engraving, fire safety, alcohol/drug issues, and date rape prevention.

A few safety tips everyone should know are:
- Always lock the door to your room or office when you are away. It only takes a few seconds for a theft to occur.
- Do not leave your key in a secure location around your door.
- Always use the “buddy system” when traveling at night and stay on traveled and well-lighted routes.
- If you see something suspicious, contact the Campus Safety officer immediately.
In partnership with the students, the Americus campus provides:
- Officers on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- A friendly staff of 9 officers
- One Chief on staff with full arrest powers
- Safety programs offered during each quarter
- A great working relationship with all other police and sheriff agencies in the area
The Crisp County Center Campus Safety office provides:
- Officer on duty during day & evening class hours
- A great working relationship with all other police and sheriff agencies in the area
