Diesel Equipment Technology Advisory Committee Meets at SGTC
The South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Diesel Equipment Technology advisory committee recently gathered in the Morgan Transportation Building on the SGTC campus. Program instructors Chase Shannon and David Cox led the discussion, focusing on program updates and needs with the committee.
SGTC advisory committees consist of local business and industry professionals who provide crucial insight into the programs they support. These members volunteer their time to ensure the college stays up to date with industry trends and workplace changes.
Attendees at the diesel advisory committee meeting included Ash Alt of AGCO Corp, Steven Stanley of Peach State Equipment, Sean Flynn of Eaton Cummings, Lu Bordoni of Flint Equipment Company, and Hunter Short of Synergy Equipment. SGTC Academic Dean Dr. David Finley, Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain, Institutional Effectiveness Director and Grants Coordinator Katrice Martin, Agricultural Technology instructor Wayne Peck, and Heavy Equipment Dealer Service Technology instructor Don Rountree were also present.
These advisory committees serve as an important connection between SGTC instructors and the industry, helping to ensure students receive the training they need to succeed in their careers after graduation.
