Evelyn Ross to speak at “Financial Literacy for College Students” workshop at SGTC
Evelyn Ross, Renasant Bank Vice-President of Community Outreach for the Southwest Georgia Region, will be the guest speaker at the South Georgia Technical College “Financial Literacy for College Students” workshop on Thursday, November 7th at 11 a.m. in the John M. Pope Weyerhaeuser Room on the SGTC Americus campus. The workshop is hosted by the SGTC Career Services office.
All SGTC students and instructors are invited to attend to learn more about the importance of financial literacy and managing credit.
Evelyn Ross is a native of Albany, Georgia. She is the eldest daughter of Charlie and (missionary) Grace Ross King. She was educated in the Public School System of Dougherty County, attended both Albany Jr. College (Darton/ASU West), and later transfered to Albany State College (ASU East), where her major course of study was Business Administration. She is also a graduate of The University of Georgia’s Southeast Regional Credit Union/Banking Management School in Athens, Ga.
She is an active member of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she is an Ordained Minister, serving under the leadership of Dr. Theodus Drake Jr. She was the first minority Vice-President for AGE Credit Union/Heritage Bank and currently she is employed with Renasant Bank.
She serves on two Community Board throughout the City of Albany: Albany Civil Rights Institute Board, and Chairperson of the Downtown Development Authority Board. Her hobbies include working behind the scenes of Ministry, traveling, and shopping.
