South Georgia Tech Marketing Management student Leah Nunley is serving as an intern this summer in SGTC’s marketing department.

South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) has announced that Leah Nunley has joined the Marketing Department as a summer intern. Nunley, in her second year at SGTC, is an exceptional student who was awarded the Student of Excellence award in spring 2024.

Originally from Arizona, Nunley chose SGTC for several reasons. She liked that the on-campus housing was convenient and efficient, which allowed her to really focus on her academic and professional growth. The affordable tuition at SGTC was also a big factor for Nunley, making it easier to pursue her educational goals without stressing too much about money.

A committed Marketing Management major, Nunley adds to the SGTC team with her creative insights and outstanding academic performance. She will help with event planning, photography and filmmaking, and several marketing activities during her summer internship. In addition to gaining hands-on skills with Abode Creative Suite software, Nunley will also establish relationships with staff and instructors and learn press release writing skills.

The following is Nunley’s advice to all students: “I would encourage all students to do an internship with SGTC to really get that hands-on experience that you’ll need in your future career.”

“Leah has a bright future ahead of her,” said South Georgia Technical College Vice President of Institutional Advancement Su Ann Bird.  “We are pleased to partner with SGTC Marketing Instructor Mary Cross to provide practical hands on experience to her students by allowing them to intern in the SGTC Institutional Advancement and Marketing Department.  Our office provides a variety of services to the college such as traditional and social media advertising, photography, videography, special event marketing, public relations, sports information, internal and external communications and more.  Hopefully, this experience will allow Leah to learn about many of the different occupational avenues available to her with her marketing degree.”

South Georgia Technical College offers over 200 programs leading to an associate degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit. Apply for admission online at www.southgatech.edu. Fall semester registration is July 23, and classes begin August 15.
