Jason Wisham joins South Georgia Tech as Aircraft Structural Technology Instructor
Jason Wisham of Leesburg has joined South Georgia Technical College as the full-time Aircraft Structural Technology Instructor for the Americus campus, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford recently. He will report to SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers and Academic Dean over Aviation Raymond Holt.
Wisham has over five years of experience at Thrush Aircraft in Albany. He is a three time graduate of South Georgia Technical College. He earned his Aircraft Structural diploma in 2011 but he also graduated from the Automotive Technology program in 2005 and the Supervisory Management program in 2008. He also worked as a technical engineer for Sumter Broadcasting and worked for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services prior to joining South Georgia Tech. He is a graduate of Americus High School as well.
Wisham worked as a supervisor for Thrush Aircraft and as a four wing technician. He also worked as an adjunct Aircraft Structural Technology Instructor at South Georgia Tech for over a year before being hired full-time.
As an Aircraft Structural Technology Instructor, Wisham will provide instruction to students about the current procedures in the Aircraft Structural field and provide directions for students concerning the appropriate course material and testing and grading procedures.
The median pay for Aircraft Structural assemblers and fabricators is approximately $31,850 per year and individuals in this field assemble or fabricate finished products and the parts that go into them. They use tools, machines, and their hands to make parts that are utilized on finished aircraft and more.
