Jon Butler hired as SGTC Maintenance Technician
Jon M. Butler of Andersonville, GA has joined South Georgia Technical College as a Maintenance Technician effective immediately, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. Butler will report to SGTC Maintenance Director Jeff Wiseman and SGTC Vice President of Operations Karen Werling.
Butler is a graduate of the SGTC GED program and also studied Welding, Marketing Management, and Drafting at South Georgia Technical College. He is the owner of Grain Bin Bicycles (formerly 308 Bike Butler) and performs professional high-end bicycle repairs for individuals, the state of Georgia and colleges and universities. He has also worked with the City of Andersonville with the Public Work Detail as well as with Right of Way Services in road maintenance.
As a Maintenance Technician at SGTC, Butler will be responsible for installing, maintaining or repairing electrical systems and associated hardware, HVAC equipment, plumbing and assisting with renovation projects as assigned. He will also assist with carpentry projects, participate in the repair and maintenance of college equipment and vehicles, participate in grounds maintenance activities and will be required to use a variety of tools, materials and equipment. He will also be responsible for maintaining required records and logs in addition to other duties as assigned.
