Karen Lewis promoted to Banner Receivables Specialist at SGTC
Karen Lewis of Americus was promoted to Banner Receivables Specialist at South Georgia Technical College recently, announced Dr. John Watford, President. Lewis will continue to report to Lea Coe, Vice President of Administrative Services.
Lewis has been a member of the South Georgia Technical College staff since 1990. She worked as the JTPA Assistant/Veterans Services Certifying Official from September 1990 to July 1997. Then she moved to a Payroll/Personnel Technician position in July 1997. She has continued in that roll until her recent promotion to Banner Receivables Specialist.
“Karen Lewis is and has been a valuable employee at South Georgia Technical College and I appreciate her willingness to accept this new challenge,” said Dr. Watford as he congratulated her on her recent accomplishment.
As the SGTC Banner Receivables Specialist, Lewis will be responsible for guiding and monitoring accounts receivable accounting transactions, particularly those related to, but not limited to, Banner student and third part receivables and will provide extensive support in the Administrative Services Department.
Lewis is a graduate of Lincoln Community High School in Stanwood, IA, and she earned a Computer Information Systems Diploma from South Georgia Technical College. She also attended Georgia Southwestern State University and is currently enrolled in the Computer Support Specialist Associate Degree program at South Georgia Technical College.
Karen has a son, Jared Lewis, who is a Mechanical Engineering student at the Kennesaw State University, Marietta Campus.
