Lady Jets Move to 2-0 in Conference Play

The South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets defeated the Andrew College Lady Tigers 93-70 on November 16. The victory pushed the Lady Jets record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Yasriyyah Wazeerud-Din, sophomore from Marietta, GA, paced the Jets with 19 points. She was followed closely by freshman Femme Sikuzani of Goma, DRC with 17 points. Sikuzani posted a double-double by contributing 14 rebounds to go along with her point total.

Other Lady Jets scoring in double digits were Shamari Tyson (12 points) and Flore Ngasamputu (11).

Niya Goudelock and Hope Butera chipped in with seven points each, and Moe Shida added six. Scoring four points each were Veronica Charles, Anna McKendree, and Sarah Lwambo, while Amara Edeh contributed two points.

The Lady Jets’ strong start on the season has them ranked 24th in the National Junior College Association Poll. For her outstanding play, Femme Sikuzani was named the GCAA player of the week.

The Lady Jets will be back in action at home for the Lady Jets Thanksgiving Classic November 29 and 30. Come out to the Hangar on the SGTC campus and cheer on the Lady Jets as they square off against Spartanburg Methodist and Florida State College at Jacksonville.
