SGTC Electrical Lineworker Advisory Committee holds Spring Meeting
South Georgia Technical College’s Electrical Lineworker program advisory committee met recently in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus.
Committee members discussed various aspects of the Electrical Lineworker program with SGTC Director of Business and Industry Services Paul Farr, Academic Dean Brett Murray, and Economic Development Assistant Tami Blount. Topics included admission requirements, program content and length, program objectives, a review of industry-specific equipment, student learning outcomes, and other program-specific materials.
Attendees included instructor Harold Ergle, Blake Manning of Crisp County Power, Eddie Greene of Sumter EMC, Ryan Hall of UTEC, Chelsea Payne of Flint Energies, and Jason McInvale of Georgia Power.
The advisory committee at SGTC aims to advise and assist program personnel in training and preparing students to meet the needs of businesses and industries in SGTC’s seven-county service area, as well as statewide and regionally. The committee serves as a crucial link between the workplace and the college.
