SGTC Hosts Georgia Agricultural Educator and Students for Campus Visit
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently welcomed Tommell Wilcox, a Georgia agricultural educator from Macon County, along with several of his high school students, to explore the college’s various program offerings. The visit allowed students to gain insight into career paths connected to agriculture and the broader opportunities available at SGTC.
During the visit, Wilcox and his students met with instructors from several disciplines that have ties to agriculture, including Horticulture instructor Brandon Gross and Commercial Truck Driving instructor Nick Edwards. These instructors discussed the skills and knowledge required to successfully complete their respective programs and enter careers in their fields.
Wilcox’s students learned about the hands-on training and state-of-the-art facilities at SGTC, as well as the diverse career opportunities in fields like horticulture, transportation, and more. They also gained a better understanding of the in-demand technical skills that can be acquired at SGTC, preparing students for success in Georgia’s growing agricultural and industrial sectors.
South Georgia Technical College offers cutting-edge training across numerous high-demand fields, and graduates can earn an associate degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit depending on the program. The college is currently enrolling for the fall C-term, which begins October 16. Students enrolling for this term can earn a full semester’s worth of credit in just eight weeks.
