South Georgia Technical College’s Medical Assisting program was ranked in the top 25 medical assistant programs in the nation according to Accredited Schools Online recently. The program earned the number 23 spot in the rankings, which included criteria such as tuition, percentage of students receiving financial aid, student-teacher ratio, and graduation rate.

The healthcare industry in the United States is growing rapidly, and SGTC provides degree, diploma, and certificate programs in several healthcare fields, including Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Phlebotomy, Nurse Aide, Medical Coding, and more.

“Last year, our Practical Nursing program was also a top ranked program at Accredited Schools Online, so we’re pleased to see our healthcare programs being rightly recognized for excellence,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. “We have some of the best instructors in the nation right here at South Georgia Tech, and for that, we’re proud. Our mission is workforce development, so helping to fulfill the needs of the healthcare industry in our area is of paramount importance to us.”
