Over 500 senior citizens attended the event from Americus, Sumter County and surrounding areas. A number of vendors were on hand at the event to provide information to the seniors about the services available or provided.
The event included a Talent Contest, Food, and the Largest Bingo in the area. Seniors were also treated to fun fitness exercises and great music throughout the four-hour event in the SGTC gymnasium.
South Georgia Technical College Cosmetology, Marketing, Business Technology, and Sports and Fitness students and instructors participated in the event. The Jets and Lady Jets basketball teams also helped Phoebe Sumter with the distribution of produce bags given away as part of the Healthy Sumter Initiative.
