SGTC to remain closed Thursday, January 23, 2025

South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford announced today that South Georgia Technical College will remain closed through Thursday, January 23, 2025 due to expected icy weather and dangerous travel conditions.

   “After talking with emergency management officials, we have decided to remain closed through Thursday,” announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford.  “The weather service is predicting icy conditions and freezing temperatures which may make travel very dangerous.  The safety of our students, faculty and staff is of upmost importance.  With that in mind, we have decided to remain closed through Thursday. I urge everyone to staff safe and stay off the roads if possible.”    Classes are expected to resume on Monday, January 27.
