SGTC Welding Department partnering with Pittsburg Tank & Tower to hire graduates
The South Georgia Technical College Welding and Joining Department has formed a partnership with Pittsburg Tank & Tower in Henderson, KY, and has been able to place welding graduates in good paying jobs right out of college.

Clarence Saint of Andersonville and Joel Trevor Ferguson of McDonough graduated from the South Georgia Technical College Welding and Joining program recently and have been hired by Pittsburg Tank and Tower. Other SGTC graduates are also working with this company.
“We have been able to place a number of graduates with Pittsburg Tank & Tower as soon as they graduate from our program,” said SGTC Welding Instructor Ted Eschmann. “Students from the Americus and Crisp County Center are currently working with this company and they took them right out of college, which speaks well for the students and our program.”
Pittsburg Tank & Tower group has immediate openings for welders to work in the Pittsburg Tank & Tower Maintenance Division, the tower shop and tank shop. They offer competitive pay and excellent benefits including becoming an owner in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Skilled welders may travel to worksites across the country for four or five weeks at a time. Hardworking and reliable MIG Welders are also need for the tower shop.
