“South Georgia Technical College was selected as the top community college in Georgia for 2020 and even though the coronavirus has prompted us to adapt and expand how we provide our outstanding workforce development academic programs, we are still committed to our core mission of offering the best workforce development education for students and for the business and industries in our area,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.
South Georgia Technical College features over 200 programs of study with associate degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit award opportunities. “Students can start and earn a technical certificate of credit in as little as eight-weeks that will provide them with outstanding career opportunities. Or they can start there and continue up to two-years and earn a diploma or an associate of applied science degree in many high demand career fields,” explained President Watford.
The virtual tour of South Georgia Technical College gives students an overview of the campus including on-campus housing, cafeteria, intercollegiate athletics, and student activity events in addition to spotlighting the buildings, labs, and classrooms in many of the academic programs of study available.
South Georgia Technical College also offers students financial aid opportunities through the HOPE Scholarship, HOPE Grant, HOPE Career Grant, Federal PELL grant, and assistance through the South Georgia Technical College Foundation. South Georgia Tech also provides students with the use of textbooks at no cost.
The cost of an education at South Georgia Technical College is very inexpensive and with the different financial aid opportunities available, many students are able to attend practically tuition free.
“We realize that many people are suffering right now due to the coronavirus pandemic. Others may have lost their jobs or are uncertain about the future,” said President Watford. “If you find yourself in any of these circumstances, I encourage to you come and take a look at what we have to offer and let us work with you to see how we can help.”
